Advanced Course Design

I have been able to leverage online course management systems and resources to create media-rich courses for both traditional and distance (or hybrid) learning courses. I am expert in Blackboard, WebCt (acquired by Blackboard) [pictured], Angel (acquired by Blackboard) and Moodle. Video Production

Video Production: I generate, record, convert and host a series of videos throughout course terms to help highlight pints, describe topics or concepts more in depth (often optionally) or to provide core lessons for a course. Videos are made avaialble via standard video services such as Vimeo and YouTube and integrated with course mangement offerings or social network offerings used in the class. Supplemental Course Sites

I generally create supplemental sites for current and future students, to easily access materials and get a feel for the course content.

Media-Rich Class Presentations

Providing context to theoretical lessons by using some or all of the source material is generally a great way to interest students in the subject more deeply. I tend to pull out key quotations and passages to help guide reading and the consideration of a source material.

Whenever possible, I strive to connect issues in society with current events and emerging trends and issues. In this case, we are discussing a recent trend in 'cyberbullying' coverage and discussion.
