About

I am an applied sociologist working as an Associate Registrar at SUNY Cortland. In addition to my administrative role, I serve as an adjunct professor in the Anthropology & Sociology Department.

Prior to coming to Cortland State, I served in special projects in the Provost's Office (Banner system implementation) and in Enrollment Management & Academic Affairs at Binghamton University.  I also previously worked in the Dean's Office at the University at Buffalo, where I also taught in the Sociology Department and the Undergraduate College.  THe University at Buffalo is also where I pursued my advanced degrees.

My research focus and academic work revolved around the area of law and society, particularly globalization and new interventionism. My latest work is focused on how globalization has impacted postindustrial cities, and their approach to redevelopment and economic boosterism.

I continue to conduct research and teach. I seek to remain engaged in the academic sociology community. I am presently teaching in the area of Criminal Justice/Criminology and Deviance, and attend professional conferences and meetings.

Prior to returning to higher education, I worked in business and industry as an operations manager, where I had extensive management training, and significant financial and supervisory experiences through managing multiple units.

I have been honored with several professional awards and accolades for my work in development advising and student service.  Please request my CV for additional information and professional experiences.
